Many were saying that the update a few days ago wasn't going to lessen the amount of cheaters at all but that is simply not the case. Every community made cheat table has been broken after the patch and to those who said that the cheaters could fix it in one or two days, you were right. A day after the patch was out, one of the main cheat tables were fixed and a day after that they were all fixed, but at this point the cheaters realized something strange. It seemed that they were being banned a lot more and at times when you normally wouldn't be banned.

Previously the saves were only scanned every Tuesday and Wednesday midnight so cheaters would more their save files before they were scanned but it seems as if the anticheat now scanns saves every day or perhaps is even an active anticheat. This would not completely get rid of cheaters as they would be able to cheat online only for one game session before they get banned and the 'best' part is that this could even make it more likely that regular players would get banned from cheaters as their saves would be scanned and they would be banned before they could delete that hacked save and lace in a backup. What's sad is they have had more than enough time to get their act together, and get serious about anti-cheat efforts for the series.

They just always kind of halfway made an effort since it usually wasn't that bad on launch enough to hurt their sales. Now that's it finally tanked a game for them they put in the level of effort they should have to start with.

And it still bans regular people. They should have removed the ability to even drop items other than prism stones lol. I've gotten more information about the anticheat and it seems as if it is not an active anticheat but that dosn't mean that regular people are completely safe from hackers if backed up.

There is more rumors that the saves are scanned on login or log off which, if they were scanned on log off, would still affect regular players. From my own testing I was able to not get banned but only after much effort and manipulation of steam and the game which would probably deter much hackers. You don't need to do simpler cheats to get away with cheating so cheaters are still the same as no more scripts will get you banned then before the patch but it does take much more preperation and precautions to not get banned. It is also a possibility that saves are now scanned randomly which would mostly negate you getting banned if you have your save backed up.
